How to use appliances
A little help with the everyday essentials
Kitchen & dining
Wash used dishes, cookware, and utensils before departure. If an appliance isn't working properly or something is missing, let your host know.
Heating & cooling
The thermostat is in the living room when entering the kitchen. Air conditioning uses window units installed during hotter seasons.
Keep exterior doors and windows closed while heating or air conditioning is running. Before leaving, return the thermostat to the recommended setting in your checkout instructions.
Contact your host if you need help with the controls or encounter a problem.

For appliance-specific controls, check your arrival messages or ask your host before using an unfamiliar appliance.
Hot tub — adults only
Unwind after a day exploring the Finger Lakes. Please help us keep the hot tub clean and ready for everyone to enjoy.
If you notice anything unusual with the water, temperature, or equipment, contact us rather than attempting to adjust the equipment yourself.
- Adults only. Children are not permitted in the hot tub.
- Shower before entering to remove lotions, oils, and sunscreen.
- No glass containers in or around the hot tub. No food, drinks, or smoking in the hot tub.
- Keep the cover secured when the hot tub is not in use.
- Do not add soaps, oils, or other products to the water.
- Follow the posted hot tub safety instructions.
Trash & recycling
Please take all trash to the dedicated bin at the garage before departure or before Wednesday morning. Trash is collected on Wednesday mornings unless a holiday prevents collection.
Use the blue recycling bins at the back of the property by the garage. Recycling is collected every other Friday.
Place all trash in designated containers and keep lids securely closed to avoid attracting wildlife.
